DumpBrowserSecrets is a post‑exploitation credential-harvesting tool that extracts saved passwords, session cookies, OAuth refresh tokens, credit card data, autofill entries, and browsing history from major Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera variants, Vivaldi) and Firefox. It bypasses Chrome's App-Bound Encryption by spawning a headless Chromium process and injecting a DLL to use the IElevator COM interface, retrieves DPAPI or NSS-protected keys as appropriate, and includes operational evasion features (string obfuscation, API hashing, PPID/argument spoofing, file-handle duplication). The tool is aimed at red teams for assumed-breach testing but represents a realistic threat for credential theft, lateral movement, and cloud account takeover if used by attackers.
