DumpBrowserSecrets is a publicly documented post‑exploitation Windows tool that harvests browser-stored secrets (cookies, saved logins, OAuth refresh tokens, credit cards, autofill data, history, and bookmarks) from Chromium-based and Firefox browsers. It bypasses Chrome's App-Bound Encryption by injecting a DLL into a headless Chromium process to use the IElevator COM interface, handles DPAPI and NSS decryption for other browsers, and includes evasion techniques (string obfuscation, API hashing, PPID/argument spoofing, file-handle duplication). The report covers usage, extracted data, a realistic red-team attack scenario, detection opportunities (e.g., unexpected process injection, IElevator calls, non-browser reads of Login Data/Cookies), and mitigation recommendations such as moving secrets to dedicated password managers and monitoring for relevant behaviors.
