FBI Warns Cyber Extortion Group Is Targeting Law Firms

The FBI and multiple industry sources warn that the Silent Ransom Group (SRG) has been targeting U.S. law firms since spring 2023, using phone and email phishing, impersonation of IT staff, and sometimes physical access to exfiltrate confidential client and firm data and pressure victims via public leak sites; ENISA and private firms corroborate the trend and highlight supply-chain and third-party risks.
