Finnish Court Jails Businessman Over Exports to Russia

A Finnish court sentenced Risto Riihimäki, CEO of Lappeenranta-based Idän Liikenteenvälitys IL Oy (now Rent ja Kalusto Oy), to three years and eight months for exporting 164 trucks and trailers to Russia in 2022–2023 in breach of EU sanctions. The court ordered forfeiture of about €600,000 and property worth €6 million; Riihimäki denies wrongdoing and the ruling can be appealed.
