Romania, UK Bust Alleged Sex Trafficking Network

Romanian and British authorities dismantled an organized crime network accused of trafficking young women from Romania to the UK for sexual exploitation, conducting coordinated raids and searches in Buzău and Dolj counties and in London. The operation resulted in detentions, asset freezes (including vehicles and properties), and the seizure of documents and electronic storage devices. One UK suspect was charged under the Modern Slavery Act, and the case was coordinated through a Eurojust-backed joint investigation team established in 2023, with investigations ongoing.
