Iran’s judiciary has dismissed or convicted 138 judicial employees and referred nearly 400 cases involving legal professionals since March 2024 as part of an anti-corruption probe in Tehran targeting bribery and influence-peddling, with assets seized in related raids. Judiciary chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei praised the crackdown while questioning existing safeguards, and the campaign follows Iran’s drop to 151st in Transparency International’s 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index.
