Ukraine Prepares War Crime Case on Abducted Orphans for International Court

Ukrainian prosecutors identified three suspects in the abduction and transfer of 15 children from a special school in occupied Mykolaiv to Russia, alleging forced indoctrination and violations of the laws and customs of war (Article 438). The report outlines the children’s movement through occupied territories to Anapa, names suspected facilitators, and notes sanctions and legal action in national and international courts. All 15 children have since been evacuated to safety, while authorities report more than 19,000 Ukrainian children remain in Russian-controlled areas.
