Armenia Targets Independent Editor in Widening Crackdown Ahead of Elections

Armenian authorities summoned Armine Ohanyan, editor-in-chief of independent newspaper Hraparak, for questioning under Article 422 over a December 2024 editorial and required her to sign a non-disclosure agreement; the investigation, which could carry prison terms if prosecuted, is viewed by the paper and opposition figures as a politically motivated attempt to silence dissent ahead of parliamentary elections.
