European Prosecutors Dismantle 2 Million Euro Illegal Cigarette Factory in Italy

Italian authorities, under the coordination of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, seized a major illegal tobacco factory in Italy, confiscating 27 tonnes of cigarettes, 19 tonnes of tobacco, and extensive packaging materials, with the facility capable of producing four million cigarettes per day and an estimated annual output worth 240 million euros. Seven Ukrainian and Bulgarian suspects were arrested on charges related to tobacco smuggling and trademark counterfeiting.
