Skopje Court Upholds Defamation Ruling Against Investigative Journalists

The Court of Appeal in North Macedonia upheld a defamation verdict against the Investigative Reporting Lab and its editor Saška Cvetkovska in a retrial brought by businessman Kočo Angjušev; press freedom groups and journalist associations condemned the decision as a dangerous precedent and potential SLAPP, and IRL plans to appeal to the Supreme Court and possibly the European Court of Human Rights.
