The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has formally charged a Russian prison doctor, Vyacheslav Cherdantsev, and inmate accomplice Yaroslav Kirillov with systematic torture, sexual violence, and medical abuse of Ukrainian prisoners of war at IK-7 in Vladimir region between 2022–2025, based on survivor interviews and a joint investigation by OCCRP and Schemes. The charges allege the doctor weaponized his medical role to coerce confessions and citizenship changes, orchestrated beatings and humiliation (including forced nudity, denial of care, and deliberate spread of disease), and participated in sexual assaults; several prison officials are named as co-conspirators in a repressive system that tolerated non-visible torture.
