This report describes how Sky Global’s encrypted communications platform became a key tool for organized crime, enabling coordination of drug trafficking and other offenses, until coordinated international investigations culminated in indictments of the founder and associates; leveraging 3,800 files from the French case, OCCRP’s Crime Messenger project offers an unprecedented look into the service’s operations and the criminal networks that relied on it.
