Indian Police Arrest Seven in Cyber Fraud Sweep

Police in Goa conducted multi-state raids that resulted in seven arrests and 24 people summoned for questioning in connection with roughly 40 cyber fraud cases (investment, parcel, sextortion, “digital arrest” and fake hotel-booking scams) causing nearly $262,000 in losses; officers seized 21 electronic devices and identified 313 suspected mule bank accounts as investigations continue to determine links to larger organized cybercrime networks.
