Russian Security Service Planned AI Tool to Track Media

Leaked documents from a December 2025 breach of Kazan-based Micord reveal that Russia’s FSB contracted the company to build PAUK, an AI-powered portal combining public media crawling with closed-source databases and an LLM-driven chatbot for searching personal and event data. The files show the system design (web crawler, editorial workflow, closed storage, and LLM search), training on thousands of FSB briefings, planned use of foreign AI components (e.g., LLaMA 2, LlamaIndex, MongoDB), and the potential to return sensitive identifiers (names, DOBs, phone numbers, license plates) to FSB officers.
