Dutch Court Hands 20-Year Sentence to Eritrean Human Trafficker

Dutch prosecutors sentenced 42-year-old Eritrean national Amanuel W. to 20 years in prison for leading a criminal organization that detained and abused hundreds of migrants in Libya from 2014–2018; victims endured physical abuse, extortion, starvation, and were held in appalling conditions, and the court ordered more than €30,000 in compensation.
