Reaper_IoT is a newly discovered IoT malware campaign reported to be rapidly spreading worldwide and believed to have infected over two million devices. Unlike Mirai, Reaper attempts logins using known weak or default credentials and exploits known vulnerabilities across multiple vendors (AVTech, D-Link, GoAhead, JAWS, Linksys, Netgear, Vacron) via nine different packages; security firms warn it is more sophisticated and likely to be weaponized, so users should patch devices, change defaults, and isolate infected devices.
