Vanished Without a Trace: Why Microsoft is Secretly Purging Open-Source Developer Accounts

Multiple open-source developer accounts (including VeraCrypt, WireGuard, OSR driver loader and UTM) were suspended or deleted by Microsoft, preventing required driver signing and halting updates for kernel-level drivers; one UTM developer’s account appears fully removed. Restorations occurred for some accounts after executive intervention, but Microsoft has not explained the cause, raising concerns of a broad internal auditing or workflow change that may have indiscriminately purged accounts.
