Sharp Printer Flaw CVE-2024-58388 Exploited in the Wild, PoC Public

This report covers CVE-2024-58388, a Sharp multifunction printer directory traversal/local file inclusion flaw that lets unauthenticated attackers retrieve arbitrary files (including core dumps that may contain credentials). A public PoC and scanning templates exist, exploitation was observed in the wild from July 2024, and the vendor and mitigations (firmware updates, removing internet-exposed web interfaces, and password rotation) are recommended.
