Game Over: Vidar Stealer 2.0 is Hijacking Gamers with Fake Cheats

Acronis TRU uncovered a large-scale campaign distributing Vidar Stealer 2.0 via fake game-cheat repositories and links (primarily on GitHub and Reddit), using intermediate sites to evade detection; the updated stealer harvests browser credentials, cookies, autofill data, cryptocurrency wallets and service credentials (Telegram, Discord, FTP, SSH), employs environment checks and screenshots to avoid analysis, and uses multithreading and polymorphic builds to increase performance and evade signature-based detection, creating significant risk to gamers and linked accounts.
