New MagicAd Android Trojan Bypasses OS Restrictions to Flood Devices with Ads

Researchers uncovered Android.MagicAd.1, an active mobile adware trojan distributed through official app marketplaces (e.g., GetApps) hidden inside 50+ games and utilities; it abuses Android Binder and the system media player to simulate user inputs, hijack vendor apps, and display persistent full‑screen ads while evading storefront protections and remaining on devices after the hosting app is removed.
