Public PoC for CVE-2026-52923 Allows Attackers to Escalate to Root Privilege

**CVE-2026-52923 – Linux kernel local privilege escalation:** Security researchers published a proof-of-concept for a high-severity Linux kernel flaw (CVSS 7.8) in the SysV IPC checkpoint/restore path that permits local attackers to escalate to root by exploiting an ipc_idr_alloc ID allocation boundary error leading to a use-after-free; upstream and enterprise vendors have released patches and administrators are advised to apply updates and reboot hosts immediately.
