AMD Silently Removes TSME Support from Ryzen CPUs

AMD quietly revoked Transparent Secure Memory Encryption (TSME) on mid- and entry-level Ryzen processors through BIOS updates, leaving a BIOS option visible while the underlying memory encryption no longer functions; the change removes protection against cold-boot and physical memory-theft attacks, and AMD says TSME was intended only for PRO-class processors after a researcher publicly reported the issue.
