Tool Release – Winstrument: An Instrumentation Framework for Windows Application Assessments

Winstrument is an open-source, Frida-based modular framework for instrumenting Windows applications to simplify reverse engineering and attack-surface assessment. The report describes the motivation and background, implementation challenges (Frida documentation, syscall selection, child-process handling), built-in modules (file I/O, registry, DLL search paths, sockets, pipes, process creation, impersonation), REPL usage and example outputs, and notes that the tool is experimental and extensible via custom modules.
