Modern Memory Security Concerns Overview

This article surveys the security properties and attack surfaces of volatile and non‑volatile memory technologies (SRAM, DRAM, flash, RPMB, HBM, etc.), highlights practical threats including RowHammer, RAMBleed, cold‑boot/chip‑off recovery, fault injection and provisioning attacks, and recommends mitigations such as memory encryption, secure key provisioning, targeted row refresh, secure erase/sanitization, and secure firmware development and vendor scrutiny.
