Half of Travel-Themed Spam Emails Are Scams

Bitdefender research found that roughly half of travel-themed spam contains scams: phishing emails impersonate Airbnb and Booking.com to steal host and customer credentials or deploy malware, while airline impersonation and fake surveys are used to harvest extensive personal information. The report highlights these active phishing campaigns and recommends ignoring unsolicited messages, verifying bookings through official sites or apps (not email links), hovering over URLs to check domains, and treating attachments with extreme caution.
