Scammers Are Exploiting the Holiday Shopping Season

Malwarebytes warns of a seasonal rise in holiday-themed scams targeting mobile users, including delivery-tracking lures and malvertising/adware, as shoppers increasingly rely on phones for purchases and package updates. The report highlights elevated exposure due to routine app downloads, frequent link-clicking on mobile, and convincing courier-themed messages, noting that more than half of users encounter ad-related threats and a significant portion have fallen victim, with younger demographics disproportionately affected.
