Apple Warns Users to be Wary of Unsolicited FaceTime Calls

Apple and Malwarebytes warn of a surge in FaceTime scams where attackers impersonate Apple Support using spoofed caller IDs and real-time calls to socially engineer victims into disclosing payment, banking, or Apple ID credentials; attackers may also chain these social-engineering lures with browser-side exploits to escalate to system compromise. Users are advised to hang up on unsolicited calls and report scam calls to appropriate authorities.
