75% of Black Friday Spam Emails Are Scams

Bitdefender reports that 77% of Black Friday-themed spam emails in 2024 were scams—up from 70% in 2023—with threat actors targeting the US and Europe using brand impersonation, urgency/exclusivity, fake deals, survey lures, and counterfeit goods to harvest payment data. Activity surged from late October through mid-November, reflecting holiday-driven interest, and is expected to continue through the season.
