Phishing Campaign Targets Japanese Firms During Tax Season

ESET reports that the criminal group "Silver Fox" is conducting targeted, tax‑themed phishing attacks against Japanese companies during tax season. The actors perform reconnaissance to impersonate trusted employees and executives and send malicious attachments or links disguised as HR, tax, or financial documents; organizations are advised to increase phishing awareness, verify tax/HR requests, and report suspicious emails to security teams.
