OpenAI's Codex Desktop can run your computer now - and has its own browser

OpenAI updated Codex Desktop from a coding assistant into a broader productivity tool, adding features such as computer automation (Mac-only), an in-app browser with clickable element selection, image/chart generation, expanded automations and memory, developer conveniences (GitHub review support, multiple terminal tabs, remote devbox SSH), rich file previews, and a curated plugin ecosystem; the release is available on Mac and Windows with some feature and region limitations.
