X (formerly Twitter) experienced a widespread outage beginning shortly before 10:30 a.m. ET, displaying Cloudflare 522 errors and login issues on web and app, with service largely restored by about 11:45 a.m. ET. Downdetector showed over 180,000 reports across the U.S., while Cloudflare stated its services were operating normally, indicating the problem was on x.com’s side; there is currently no evidence of a malicious cause.
