Want to change your Gmail address? Now you can, without losing any data - here's how

ZDNET reports that Google now allows users to change their Gmail username (the part before @gmail.com) without losing account data; the old address becomes an alternate and messages to both addresses will be delivered to the updated account. The feature is available across platforms, allows one change per year (with a limit of three changes total), and preserves emails, photos, and other account data.
