Microsoft released an out-of-band Windows update (KB5078127) to resolve January 2026 update regressions that blocked Outlook and other apps from opening or saving files on cloud services such as OneDrive and Dropbox, while also rolling in earlier fixes for remote connections and Secure Launch. However, a separate bug from the same update cycle is causing a subset of Windows 11 24H2/25H2 systems to fail boot with an UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME error, requiring recovery steps; Microsoft is investigating with no fix yet.
