Microsoft’s January 13, 2026 Patch Tuesday resolved more than 110 vulnerabilities but also introduced two issues: Remote Desktop sign-in/authentication failures on specific Windows 11/10 and Windows Server builds, and Windows 11 23H2 devices with Secure Launch restarting instead of shutting down or hibernating. Microsoft has issued out-of-band updates (KB5077744, KB5077797, KB5077796, KB5077793, KB5077800, KB5077795) via Windows Update for affected Windows 11 (25H2/24H2/23H2), Windows 10 22H2 ESU/LTSC 2021, and Windows Server (2025/2022/2019) systems.
