Aflac, one of the USA’s largest insurers, is the latest to fall “under siege” to hackers

Aflac is investigating a breach that may have exposed sensitive customer data (claims, health details, SSNs). Reporting attributes the incident to the Scattered Spider group, which has been using social-engineering techniques—support-desk impersonation, phishing, SIM swapping and MFA bombing—to gain access to insurer and retailer networks rather than exploiting zero-day vulnerabilities.
