Bitsquatting Is Alive and Well

This post examines *bitsquatting*—bit-flip errors in DNS resolution that can redirect users to lookalike domains—and shows that many alphanumeric permutations of popular sites (e.g., 4witter.com, wwwngoogle.com) are already registered. Using a bit-toggling tool, the authors note overlap with typosquatting, advise considering this vector in brand protection strategies, and indicate a forthcoming LABS tool for deeper analysis.
