Microsoft has again delayed the rollout of its Recall feature for Copilot+ while it strengthens security and privacy controls; the company says Recall will be opt-in, encrypted, run inside VBS enclaves with biometric authorization, and include filtering and deletion controls. Security experts and vendors warn that features that capture screenshots and activity timelines create substantial privacy and attack surface risks (including prompt injection and social-engineering abuse), and Microsoft appears to be taking extra time to learn from Anthropic’s similar Claude capability before previewing Recall to Insiders.
