Pegasus Spyware Targets Togolese Journalists' Mobile Devices

Reporters Without Borders identified installations of Pegasus spyware on the phones of multiple Togolese journalists; one publisher experienced at least 23 intrusions between Feb 1 and July 10, 2021 and another journalist was intruded on Oct 25, 2021. The piece links Pegasus (an NSO Group product that can access messages, media, passwords, and location data) to use by Togo's government until 2021 and notes three other Togolese journalists appeared on the international Pegasus Project list of 50,000 potential targets.
