Rafts of Security Bugs Could Rain Out Solar Grids

Researchers at Forescout disclosed 46 vulnerabilities affecting Sungrow, Growatt, and SMA solar ecosystem components (inverters, dongles, mobile apps, cloud backends) that could allow unauthorized takeover, remote code execution, and coordinated load-changing attacks capable of destabilizing grids or causing blackouts; vendors have patched issues and the researchers provided procurement, network segmentation, and secure development recommendations.
