Air-Gapped Networks Vulnerable to Acoustic Attack via LCD Screens

The report details research on “Pixhell,” a covert-channel technique that encodes data by rapidly changing bitmap patterns on an LCD to cause capacitors and inductors in the display hardware to emit ultrasonic signals; a compromised machine on the other side of an air gap can receive and decode the transmissions. The method is a high-sophistication proof-of-concept with limited range and practical impact confined to extremely sensitive environments unless additional mitigations are absent.
