EU Gets a Head Start in Developing 6G Network Security

European researchers and 19 partner organizations have launched Shield-6G, an EU-funded initiative to build AI-centric cybersecurity and a cross-operator threat intelligence platform for anticipated 6G networks by ~2030, emphasizing federated learning, explainable AI, honeypots, testing in digital twins, and maintaining human oversight to secure increasingly fragmented and automated infrastructures.
