This article discusses how new SEC breach-disclosure rules and rising board interest in cyber risk are changing the CISO role: CISOs increasingly attend board meetings, must develop storytelling and soft skills to explain risk and ROI, and benefit from dedicated cybersecurity committees and direct reporting lines to CEOs to improve communication and organizational resilience.
