Godfather is a mobile banking Trojan (first seen in 2022) that has grown into a large malware-as-a-service operation: it can record screens and keystrokes, intercept 2FA calls and texts, and initiate fraudulent bank transfers, and its developers are auto-generating hundreds to thousands of unique samples to evade signature-based detection, resulting in wide targeting of banking apps across dozens of countries and significant challenges for mobile security.
