Frenos Takes Home the Prize at 2024 DataTribe Challenge

Frenos won the 2024 DataTribe Challenge, edging out three other finalists—DataMonstr, Force Field, and Validia—after presenting to judges and investors; the finalists split a $25,000 prize and received one-on-one coaching. Frenos, based in Charlotte, NC, offers a zero-impact continuous security assessment platform for OT environments that enables attack simulations and penetration testing, a capability judged highly relevant given current geopolitical risks. The other finalists focus on developer environment protection (DataMonstr), media authenticity verification (Force Field), and real-time identity verification to counter deepfakes (Validia). Frenos’ CEO credited an assigned adviser for refining their pitch, and DataTribe noted a strong track record of investing in past finalists.
