North Korean state-linked IT workers are obtaining remote IT jobs across Europe and other regions by using fake identities, fabricated references, controlled personas, and laptop farms to launder earnings to the DPRK and to gain access to corporate systems for potential espionage, IP theft, or backdoor placement; researchers and prosecutors have observed these schemes and advise stronger vetting, technical interviews, and reporting to authorities.
