Auburn's McCrary Institute and Oak Ridge National Laboratory to Partner on Regional Cybersecurity Center

Auburn University’s McCrary Institute, partnering with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, received a $10 million Department of Energy grant (total project value $12.5M) to create the Southeast Region Cybersecurity Collaboration Center (SERC3). The center will run research labs at Auburn and ORNL, include a mock utility command center for real-time cyber defense training, and focus on industry-academia-government collaboration and workforce development to strengthen the resilience of the electric power grid against cyberattacks.
