Enterprises Worry End Users Will be the Cause of Next Major Breach

Dark Reading’s Strategic Security Survey indicates that, despite widespread use of controls like MFA, malware analysis, and security awareness training, many organizations feel more vulnerable than last year: 55% report increased breach risk, 58% are more concerned about ransomware, and 78% expect more attacks on cloud providers; while 63% feel ready to respond to ransomware, respondents cite negligent users (38%) and social engineering (24%) as likely breach causes, with policy enforcement and managing security complexity persisting as major challenges.
