Gov't, Judicial IT Systems Beset by Access Control Bugs

Multiple high- and critical-severity vulnerabilities were found across at least 19 government technology platforms—examples include an 8.6 CVSS flaw in Georgia's voter cancellation portal and 9.8/9.1 CVSS flaws in widely used public records and e-filing systems—exposing sensitive PII and enabling actions like account modification, privilege escalation, and attempted unauthorized voter deregistration. The report notes several patches have been applied, documents evidence of public attempts at abuse, and attributes the systemic weakness to legacy systems, insufficient funding, and inconsistent vendor accountability.
