Data Security Posture Management: Accelerating Time to Value

This commentary explains the concept of data resilience and the role of Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) in discovering, classifying, and protecting sensitive data. Based on a survey of 370 IT and security professionals, it highlights common DSPM time-to-value and presents a concise implementation playbook—engage stakeholders, define goals and KPIs, secure executive buy-in, assign roles, discover and classify data, validate and restrict access, remediate misconfigurations, and select controls—to operationalize DSPM effectively.
