'GhostRace' Speculative Execution Attack Impacts All CPU, OS Vendors

Researchers at IBM and VU Amsterdam disclosed "GhostRace" (CVE-2024-2193), a speculative-execution attack that can bypass common synchronization primitives across Intel, AMD, ARM and IBM processors, creating speculative race conditions that may lead to information leaks and security bypasses; the researchers published a technical paper and blog post, notified vendors, and vendors issued guidance but no active exploitation is reported.
